FANTASY ESPORTS
Fantasy is a game of skill and your esports knowledge. You chose your team from all the players/teams playing in PUBG, Valorant, FreeFire, CODM, CS:GO and other favourite esports games.You have to create your team within the given max budget of 40 credits. Your dream team earns points when the real players perform in the real tournaments live. What are you waiting for, come participate, play and win! Here are easy steps to get started:
- Select a Match: Select a Match on any ongoing series of a game
- Select a Contest: Select a contest you want to participate in
- Create your Team: Create a team with your esports knowledge and skill and flaunt to your friends
- Follow the Match: Track the match in the Live Matches or My Entry section
- Withdraw your winnings: Withdraw your winnings in your wallet.
Follow these 5 Steps to join your first ever fantasy esports contest:
- Step 1 : Select a Match
Choose a match you like from the list of matches shown on the fantasy Homepage. - Step 2 : Create your team
- If it is a Team v Team match –
- Choose your best 5 players among all the players playing in the match.
- Do keep in mind that you have 40 credits to make your team.
- Do your research well.
- If it is a Battle Royal match –
- Choose your best 4 teams among all the teams playing the match.
- Do keep in mind that you have 40 credits to make your team. Do your research well.
- Step 3 : Join a Contest
Choose a contest to play in and win money or play practice contests for free. Generally the more teams you participate with, the more are your winning chances. You can even choose to participate in multiple contests together with a single team. - Step 4 : Follow the match
Track your team’s fantasy points across different contests that you joined on the leaderboard. You can track them in the ‘My Entry’ section at the bottom right corner on the Match details page. - Step 5: Withdraw Your Winnings
After the match, Your winnings are credited to your Winnings wallet. You can withdraw the winning amount once you have won at least Rs 10.
There are two ways to join a Fantasy Esports contest-
- Way 1 – If you want to participate in multiple contests at once-
- Create a team
- Select Captain and Vice-Captain and
- Then select one or multiple contests.
- Way 2 – If you want to participate in a single contest. You could follow the above mentioned steps to participate in a single contest.

- Then create a team
- and then select Captain and Vice-Captain
Remember, you are provided with 40 credits in case of Team v/s Team and Battle Royale match. Use them wisely.
At the end of the process, you will be asked to make the payment which is deducted from the GAMFO Cash Balance. If you don’t have enough balance you can always top up the wallet during the payment process.
If a match is cancelled we will mark the match cancelled and refund your money within 12-48 hrs. If rescheduled we inform users via notifications.
Results are usually announced within 24 hours. If you wish to check your results you can visit the My Matches section from the home screen.
Esports Tournaments
To participate and compete in esports tournaments and custom matches, please follow the steps given below:
- Visit Tournament section
- Select Tournament or custom match of your choice
- Select Register and then follow the instructions
A contest fee is designed in accordance with different device platforms, game title, discipline, format/structure, channel, prize pool and tournament size. Registration fees might vary contest to contest. Visit the contest details page tab of the respective contest to find the registration fees payable to participate.
After completing the registration process, please open the contest by visiting the Tournaments tab in the ‘My Matches’ section. You will find the Room ID and Password to play the match of the contest. You need to have the respective game installed in your device to play the match.
Tournament or match discipline can be found on the respective tournament card in the tournament section. There are various disciplines like 1 v/s 1, 2 v/s 2, 3 v/s 3, 5 v/s 5, 6 v/s 6, Solo, Duo and Squad considered to host a particular contest with respect to a particular game title.
Visit the respective contest to find the format/structure of the contest. The standard tournament formats are Battle Royale, Single Elimination, Double Elimination, Round Robin, Group stage & Ladder system. A contest may carry a mix of multiple tournament formats like Group stage + Single Elimination, Group Stage + Double Elimination, etc.
We do not allow to add or register substitutes for a tournament or custom matches at the moment. You can always get in touch with our support representatives or tournament administrators if you face any issues with regard to adding players to your team.
We do not allow players/users to change their in-game id once they have completed the registration process and joined a tournament or custom matches. But you can always use different in-game id’s across various tournaments.
For example,
In “Tournament 1”, you can register “abcd” as in-game id and for “Tournament 2”, you can register “zxcv” as your in-game id.
Please ensure that the in-game id’s registered are owned by you and correct. And you’re using the same id while playing the matches during the respective tournaments.
Room ID and password or lobby details will be available for the participants once the registrations are closed. For details, please refer to the instructions given below:
Visit “My Matches” section
Select “Tournament” tab
Select the respective custom match or tournament
If a match is cancelled, we will mark the match cancelled and refund your money within 12-48 hrs. If rescheduled we inform users via notifications.
The results will be uploaded within 1-2 days after a respective match is completed. Visit the tournaments tab in the “My Matches” section and then select the desired tournament or a custom match to find the results of the contest.
Winnings
The winner is declared after the completion of the match and the winnings are credited to your GAMFO account usually within a couple of hours after the match is completed. Our dedicated team verifies the GAMFO scorecard manually with our live feed to ensure that the points and scores are correctly updated after every match. This procedure can sometimes take a relatively long time. Only after we are sure that all points and scores are accurate, the final points are updated and winners are declared.
Ranks as well as the points will be updated, displayed during and at the end of every match. If you win a contest, the winnings will be credited automatically to your GAMFO winnings balance and you will receive an email or SMS confirmation from us with the details of your winnings.
When you win in a contest, your winnings will be added to your GAMFO winning balance within the next 4 hours of the completion of a match.Then you can withdraw the winnings using a UPI or a Bank account. Once your withdrawal request has been verified by our team, the amount will be credited to your bank account within 5 business days.
Deposit
Visit the My Wallet section and then you can top-up the wallet by clicking on the ‘Add Cash’ button, located on the page, which will land you on the Add Cash Page. Here you can enter your amount, select your pack and check/apply coupons and proceed to add money using UPI, Credit/Debit Card, Net banking,Wallets etc.
It may take a short time for your deposit to reach your wallet. Sometimes, the delay is caused because of the connectivity issues on either client or server side. If the problem still persists, please contact our support representatives with the screenshot of the deducted amount and the registered phone number.
You will receive your OTP within 2 minutes after entering your mobile number. If you have still not received, we request you to kindly check the details given below :
- Network Connectivity strength
- Whether you have entered the correct mobile number
- If you still do not receive the OTP please report the issue to our support team
The Top-up balance as well as the Winning balance do not carry any expiry date. You can use the top-up balance as and when you want. Also, you can withdraw the winning balance as and when you desire.
Account
KYC is mandatory for withdrawing the winnings credited to your GAMFO account.
KYC can only be completed using a PAN Card on GAMFO. To update your KYC follow below instructions:
- Visit “My Wallet” section from top right corner
- Click on “Update your KYC”
- Upload a soft copy of your PAN Card. Soft Copy should be an image format. PDF documents are not accepted
- Select the check box if you accept that you are 18 years of age or older and are not a resident of Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Odisha, Telangana, Nagaland or Sikkim.
- Our team shall review your request and verify your KYC within 24 hours. In case if the PAN Card presented for KYC does not match your account details your KYC may be rejected.
Withdrawal
You can withdraw cash by using the modes given below:
- UPI
- Bank Account transfer
- Paytm Wallet
Mobile number verification is mandatory while withdrawing an amount using both the modes.
You can withdraw a minimum amount of Rs. 100 and Maximum amount of Rs. 9,999 in a single transaction.
Unfortunately, you can withdraw money from your GAMFO account balance only to your own bank account. If you do not have a bank account, your winnings will keep getting accumulated in your GAMFO account balance. Once you have a bank account in your name, you can use the same to get your GAMFO account verified and place your withdrawal requests. Alternatively, you can also transfer the amount to your bank account using UPI.
Withdrawals are processed on the next working day of submitting a withdrawal request and are transferred to your verified bank account within 5 working days. Transfer to your account via UPI will take upto 2 business days. Remember, your GAMFO account must be completely verified before you place a withdrawal request.
Profile
Usernames are automatically created and assigned upon creation of your GAMFO account. To change your username, follow the instructions below:
- Visit “My Profile” section from the hamburger menu
- Click on edit button next to your username
- Update/Change your username
- Click on the grey tick at the top right corner and you’re done.
- Usernames can only be changed once in their lifetime. So, we suggest you set your username wisely.
Wallet
There are 2 types of wallets associated with GAMFO:
- Cash Balance: You can top-up this wallet. You cannot withdraw the balance from this wallet once it is credited.
- Winnings: You cannot top-up this wallet. All the rewards/prizes are credited to this wallet. You can withdraw the balance from this wallet using UPI,Paytm or Bank Account
You can find the total available balance from the top right corner when you open the GAMFO app. To find the distribution of the total available balance in your wallet, please visit the “My Wallet” section by clicking on the wallet button at the top right corner.
Legality
A game of skill is when a player invests his/her time in learning, practicing and refining his skill to perform in a particular game. The Supreme Court noted that games of skill would be where success depends principally upon the superior knowledge, training, attention, experience and adroitness of the player. It is also noted by the Supreme Court that a Game of Skill will have a predominance of Skill Factor.
The principal legislation governing gambling in India is the Public Gambling Act, 1867 (“PGA”). The PGA criminalises the act of ‘gambling’ in a public forum and the keeping of a ‘common gaming house’. The PGA, however, creates an important exception in favour of games of skill, by stating that the provisions of the PGA shall [not] be held to apply to any ‘game of mere skill’ wherever played.
Fantasy Esports on GAMFO is a Game of Skill where you use your esports knowledge! Games of skill are excluded from the definition and purview of “gambling” under applicable Indian laws. Hence, joining a contest and winning cash on GAMFO is legal, secure and a whole lot of fun too!
According to the recent legal developments on the 14th February 2022, ALL Karnataka residents will now be able to play for cash on GAMFO. All you have to do is, pick an upcoming match and get started!
The laws in Assam, Andhra Pradesh, Odisha, Telangana, Nagaland and Sikkim are unclear on games of skill that may be played for a fee. Hence, residents of these states are not permitted to join any cash contests on GAMFO.
Charges & Taxation
GAMFO does not charge any service charge or GST when you top-up your wallet or register for a Fantasy Contest or a Tournament.
But TDS at 31.2% will be applicable Under section 194B of the Income Tax Act,1961 on your net winnings.
Under section 194B of the Income Tax Act,1961, GAMFO is legally required to deduct tax at source (TDS) against winnings greater than Rs. 10,000 in a single contest. You will be required to provide your Permanent Account Number (PAN), without which you will not be able to receive your TDS certificate. The Deduction rate of 31.2% will be automatically charged from your net winnings and the remaining will be credited into your GAMFO winnings wallet.
No, we do not charge any service fee when you top-up your GAMFO Cash balance.
No, we do not impose any service charge/ fee when you register for any Esports Fantasy Contest or Tournament on GAMFO.
You can view your TDS transactions in the transactions section under My Wallet. You can see the amount of TDS deducted on a transaction along with the transaction summary and TDS breakup.
You can download your TDS certificate from the GAMFO App within three and a half months from the date of deduction, only if you have a PAN verified GAMFO account. Below are the indicative timelines to receive TDS certificates:
- Winning month
- Timeframe to receive TDS
- April To June- after 15th Aug
- July to Sept- after 15th Nov
- Oct to Dec- after 15th Feb
- Jan to March- after 15th June
There can be two possible reasons, why you are unable to view any TDS certificate on your account-
- TDS has not been deducted for any of your transactions
- Your account was not PAN verified in the financial quarter when TDS was deducted
